The Return!

Hi guys! I have great news! After a hard search to fix my PC problem, today I managed to get a reboot disc and fix it! I will now be playing FM again and have been able to carry on my Saints Game! (Which I'm really happy about because I'd lost hope!) So anyway, check back soon for Season 2 in the Championship! :D

Bad News from Deano

Hello guys! Sorry I've not been posting at all in the last 2 days, but there is a big reason for that. I came home from work on Wednesday to find my PC has a major fault. I need to pay £10 for a copy of this disc which reboots my PC to repair it. In other words, I don't know if I will be able to get my Southampton career back which is really annoying for me, and for you. I'll let you know more as soon as I know more! Thanks.

Southampton PROMOTED!

Southampton 2-1 Leeds United - Coca-Cola League 1 Play-offs Final.

Sunday 23rd May, 2010

Attendance - 90,000

Southampton have finally been promoted after a long and tiresome Season in the Coca-Cola League 1. The Saints were handicapped this Season as they were deducted 10 points due to being put into Administration from the dreaded 'Rupert Lowe' era.

Since then, Southampton have been bought by Swiss-Billionairre Markus Leibherr and appointed current Manager Dean Jones, who was thought to be an unsual choice at the time, considering he hadn't ever been heard of ever before!

Jones though has defied a lot of odds this Season and has carried The Saints to a fair to say, 'unexpected' promotion at the first time of asking.

Starting Lineups...

Southampton had to beat Bristol Rovers to get to Wembley, and then Leeds United in the Final itself and eventually won 2-1 in North London. It was a tense affair where 90,000 Fans turned up! Eventually though Southampton took the lead through South-African International MacBeth Sibaya, with an amazing shot from 35-yards out, which hit the back of the net and sent the Saints fans mental.

Saints had the lead at half time but on 52 minutes Leeds goal-poacher Becchio fired an equaliser after a great start to the half for them.

Southampton though were not going to lay down and take it, as Polish Striker Marek Saganowski showed with his stylish finish as he got past Leeds defender Kisnorbo to meet with Morgan Schneiderlin's excellent through ball which he's been doing all Season long.

Marek Saganowski scores to win The Saints promotion!

Southampton won the match and have now been promoted to the Championship next Season, Leeds however are set for yet another long Season in League 1...this will be their forth!

Saints crush Bristol to reach Wembley!

Southampton have reached the Wembley Play-off final after they killed off Bristol Rovers in both legs.

Saints took home a valuable win at The Memorial Stadium winning it 2-1 from going behind.

Then Saints won their home tie against Rovers 2-1 at St. Mary's Stadium from 2 goals from Rickie Lambert!

It was a sell-out crowd at St. Mary's as Lambert gives the Saints fans something to shout about!

Rickie Lambert scores an incredible goal from distance as he breaks former-club Bristol Rover's fans hearts.

The Saints will now play Leeds United in the Wembley final.

Southampton make Play-offs!

I am delighted to announce that Southampton have made it into the Play-offs! Finishing the League in 3rd position! Southampton ended the Season on a 10-match unbeaten run and deserve to already be up through automatic promotion, but the minus 10 points punishment for the Club going into administration last Season has meant that play-offs would be the most they could realistically hope for.

Final League standings.

Southampton have also drawn Bristol Rovers in the first Round of the Play-offs, and the first leg will be played in Bristol at The memorial Stadium.

The last time the two sides met Southampton stuffed Bristol Rovers 4-0 at The Memorial Stadium!

Also Norwich will play Leeds in the other draws.

Saints through to FA Cup 5th Round!

Southampton beat Bristol Rovers 1-1 which went to penalties which Southampton won after some great saves from Southampton Captain Kelvin Davis.

Southampton will now play Premier League giants Chelsea in the next round at home!

January Transfer Window round-up

January Transfer Window Shut!

Right so now that the January Transfer Window has shut, I can't buy any more players until the Summer! Hopefully I will get some good players in when I get promoted!

Anyway in this window I managed to bring in 4 good players. to be honest though, I had hoped at the start of the window that I would get a new Centre-back to bolster my options. Unfortunatly I couldn't agree on a price for Burnley defender Michael Duff, who I thought could jump straight into the team. But it didn't happen and that was it.

On the upside though, I am happy with my successful transfers, with the likes of MacBeth Sibaya and Florian Marange joining Southampton. Let me show you the full list of failed transfers, successful incoming and outgoing transfers too!

Failed Bids...

Outgoings...

- I got rid of Graeme Murty, but we are still paying most of his wage until the end of the Season! :(
+ I'm looking forward to seeing who impresses on-loan at league 2 and down clubs :)
+ I am also happy to get a good profit from the whole Maranon saga :)

Incomings...

Adegoroye is one for the future, maybe breaking into the team next Season :P
+ I am also delighted at the captures of Marange, Sibaya and even Sun Jihai :)

I'm hopeful that these players will help my team push-on for a play-off place to get promotion! :D

Elsewhere though, there were some interesting big-money transfers that went ahead in England...

Argentine Maxi Rodriguez signed for Man City for £21M from Atletico Madrid
Russian LB Aleksander Kolarov signed for Man Utd for £19.75M from Lazio
Brazillian Filipe went to Chelsea from Deportivo for £12.5M
Argentine Juan Roman Riquelme also went to Chelsea for £10.75M
Chelsea continued spending big on Luisao from Benfica for £11.25M

Saganowski double seals Saints win!

Southampton 2-0 Stockport - Coca-Cola League 1.

Saturday 30th January, 2010

Attendance - 15,318

A great display from 31-year-old Southampton Striker Marek Saganowski insured a well-held Southampton victory in League 1. Marek was all over the place all match and finished with a deserved 2 goals to add to his already 17 League goals this Season and he was rightly named Man of the Match to top it all off.

He's in fine form and proved it today by going top scorer of the League.

What this does to the League...

Southampton v Swindon 'redo'

Southampton 3-0 Swindon - Coca-Cola League 1.

Wednesday 27th January, 2010

Attendance - 15,034

If you don't know already then I had a powercut just as I finished the Swindon game...so I have reluctantly been forced to play it again :/

Saints flew past Swindon as they won easily 3-0 at home.

Man of the Match:
Marek Saganowski(ST)

What this result does to the league...

Saints are still just 1 win from the bottom play-offs place.

Personal message from Deano...

Hiya guys, sorry to tell you this but my area had a powercut just as I finished the Swindon home game...and I didn't get a chance to save my progress...so I will have to redo the match. Sorry again!

Southampton v Swindon

Southampton 2-2 Swindon - Coca-Cola League 1.

Wednesday, 27th January, 2010

Attendance - 15,041

This is a key match for both team's promotion hopes this Season! Southampton currently sitting in 8th place and just 3 points seperating them from a play-off place. Swindon are just behind The Saints as they occupy 9th place and are 6 points off a play-off place going into today's match!

Last time the two clubs met at the start of the Season Swindon were deserved 4-2 winners. Saints will be out for revenge!

Starting Line-ups:

The goals...

The first of the goals today went to the home side. Morgan Schneiderlin once again producing an amazing through ball, cutting the Swindon defence in half as Marek Saganowski was there to blast it in! 1-0 to The Saints.

Southampton go into the break with a well-deserved halftime lead at St. Mary's
Stadium.

Half Time

Jones makes a half-time switch as Striker Nathan Tyson replaces David Connolly.

Second of the game take from Swindon as Albrighton delivered a decent corner and found a poorly marked  Greer to head home to the disappointment of Saints Manager Jones.

Then, Southampton got their noses infront once again, and the goal was nearly the exact same one as Saints' first. Morgan Schneiderlin putting in another wonderful through-ball which was met by experienced poacher Saganowski who was only too happy to finish. 2-1 to Southampton.

Swindon's late equaliser came about then Southampton's Oscar Gobern didn't intercept a lofted cross into the area which Swindon's Cody Mcdonald got onto and scored. 2-2.

What this does to the League Table...

I am disappointed with this result because we so nearly won it, and now we are  5 points off a play-off spot.

Lambert out for 7 weeks!

Saturday 16th January, 2010

Southampon star Rickie Lambert has been ruled out of action for up to 7 weeks. The Saints hitman has been out with injury a few times this Season but it hasn't so far effected his game. Lambert sustained fractured ribs at the away game to Millwall in which Southampton battled to a deserved 3-2 victory.

The Saints man has been in great form all Season for the Club and has so far bagged 16 goals in all competitions from 22 games. He will be sorely missed!

Millwall v Southampton

Millwall 2-3 Southampton - Coca-Cola League 1.

Saturday 16th January, 2010

Attendance - 13,431

Southampton face a really tough task here as The Den is a very hard place to go, especially as Millwall are doing so well in the League! Make no mistake about it though, Saints have a chance of winning today!

How they line up...

Selection changes...
-Jones names an unchanged side from the team that beat Walsall on Wednesday.

The match...

Rickie Lambert had to go off after picking up an injury...Marek Saganowski replaces him.

Moments later the first goal of the game went to Millwall from a Corner. Marange misjudged the flight of the ball and it came straight to Robinson who had an easy finish. 1-0 to the Lions.

Southampton then got their heads down and got one back just minutes after the opener. Dan Harding's throw in went straight to Schneiderlin who had loads of space to slide through a great through ball for Marek Saganowski to perform a real goalscorer's finish before Millwall knew too much about it! 1-1.

Then just 2 mintues later Saints got another! From a Dan Harding Corner Schneiderlin put real pressure on Millwall Defender Alan Dunne who bottled it and scored an own goal in the air off his head and into the net. 1-2 to the Saints who are really ontop at the moment.

Saints then had a David Connolly goal questionably ruled out my the linesman who by the way finished emphatically.

Southampton look great and deserve their half time lead.

Second Half...

Penalty awarded to Millwall...Price scores it, 2-2.

Then on 83 mintues, Nathan Tyson beat the offside trap to meet Morgan Schneiderlin's excellent lofted-through ball to score! Millwall 2-3 Southampton! Less than 10 minues to go!

Tyson puts it away to win it for Saints and to get his 12th League goal of the Season!

The Full time whistle goes and Southampton go away with a much worked for 3 points today!

Full-time player performances...

How it finished...

Man of the Match...

Morgan Schneiderlin(CM)

He really was amazing today, he assisted 2 goals and was pretty much part of every attack we made.

So here's the League Table after our fantastic Victory...

-I am delighted with that result as we are now just 1 win off the bottom Play-offs place! Wahoo :P Let's hope we can get a result when Swindon come to St. Mary's! Last time we lost 4-2 at their ground if you remember...:P
