FIRST HALF...
Southampton's first real chance of the game came in the 31st mintue where Morgan Schneiderlin continued unchallenged and released a belter of a shot which cannoned of the Brentford Post from 30 yards out.
The first goal came about when the Southampton defence fell asleep and were exposed by Brentford's Markus Bean who slipped a perfect through ball which cut open Saints for Brentford's Taylor to finish it and put the home side ahead just minutes before half time.
Taylor the goal scorer.
But despite Saints having most of the possession from then on in, Brentford's Dickson managed to get a shot away on the edge of Saint's area despite Evanilson trying his best which cannoned off the post.
HALF TIME...
Saints Boss Dean Jones took Marek Saganowski(ST) off for David Connolly(ST) to try to get a response from the visitors.
And then, after some good play by Southampton eventually one went their way. Morgan Schneiderlin giving the ball to Sub Connolly for him to slide a perfect through ball in to the feet of Rickie Lambert who drove the ball in perfectly. 1-1
Lambert's equaliser.
Southampton continued to pile on the pressure as Rickie Lambert found himself with a one-on-one oppertunity, Lambert produced a great finish which bounched off the post, onto the bar and went in, but it was ruled out for an extremley close offside.
Then out of nothing Sawyer feeds the ball to Papa Waigo who hits it first time on the edge of Brentford's box from 25-yard out which goes in for a screamer! Saints lead...
Tactical Sub - Schneiderlin who worked his socks off is replaced by Paul Wotton.
Goal as Brentford get Saints on the break, O'Connor pulls it back to Hughes in Saints' area as they fail to deal with the attack. Hughes hits it first time to draw Brentford level with 10 minutes to go.
Last gasp- Hughes the late equaliser scorer.
From that free-kick, Lambert hits the post from 20 yards in injury time!
FULL TIME.
